IPL teams in second edition comprises of players and team composition which is lot more different and subtle this year. Even though all teams look to have players to win the cup, as always there are few favourites and dark horses like any other tournament. We will get to know about them further in coming paragraphs.

Obvious favourites of this year tournament is Rajasathan Royals, even though they were considered as dumb squib last season, they showed their valour and team cohesiveness which enabled them to clinch tournament. Any team which has Shane warne weaving his spin magic and logic are surely hot favourites. They have players like Henderson, Shaun Tait, Shane Watson (Man of tournament last edition), Yusuf pathan , Munaf Patel, Morne Morkel, Graeme Smith which makes a perfect combination for T 20 cricket.

Another team which can seriously stake a claim in this year tournament is Chennai Super Kings. Mahendra Singh Dhoni who was touted as man with Midas touch can be huge influence in his team performance. With comrades like mathhew Hayden, Mike Hussey, makhya Nitni, Albie Morkel, Andrew Flintoff , Jacob Oram , Muttiah Muralitharan , Suresh Raina  sharing same jersey, they are obviously one of the top leading contenders to clinch the title and headache to all the other teams.

Any tournaments have black horses which can spring the surprise to everyone. Last year Rajasthan Royals not only surprised everyone with their performance but even won it. This year Delhi Dare Devils could prove to be potential dark horses who can cause major upsets. They have players taylor made for T 20 like David Warner (Australia), Daniel Vettori who has least run rate for a international bowler in T 20 and how can anyone forget the most destructive opening pair of present Virender shewag and Gautham Gambhir. They have also went in for couple of rookie players like Nannes fast bowler of Victoria and Mc Donald who can be utilised as a surprise weapons at anytime of tournament. How can we forget a player like Glenn Mc Grath , the player of his calibre is very unfair  to be discounted on basis of age. They have other reputed players like Ab De Villers, Maharoof and Owais shah who can be the impact players.

It will be foolish to say that other team won’t make inroads in this year IPL. With amount of talents in their depository and experience coupled with coaching staffs all the teams can give fierce completion to each other. One thing is sure the War field is all set to witness titanic battles.
