It was almost incredible, to ruminate on the fact that Shane Warne hasn’t captained a single match, for Australia and it came to media limelight, ever since he flaunted with his captain skills, in inaugural edition of IPL, where he solely romped his team to IPL throne. It seems the script is going to be no different, in this edition of IPL too.
Recently Rajasthan Royals returned to office with a shock defeat, to domestic champions of South Africa Cape cobras, in wanderers. It fuelled speculations, whether Rajasthan Royals can replicate the same magic without Sohail Tanvir and Shane Watson (who is all set to miss the major chunk of the tournament owing to national duty), who were architects for their thumping wins last year.
Shane Warne recently spun a googly, in a press conference stating, that he is not perturbed, by their defeat with the local team, where he intentionally let the Cape cobras off the hook, when they were grasping for breath on 60 for 5.
He added, that he wanted to test, how his youngsters react to pressure and he got the aroma of it, through the match. Giving a hint, that it was one of the reason, why he under bowled Kamran khan an 18 year old youngster and gave ball, to spinners.
Warne has once again confounded protocols and ethics of approaching a warm – up match and truly awe inspiring with his thoughts, that one wonder, what must be extra in his cortex.
Even though Warne did rue about the fact of missing Shane Watson and Sohail Tanvir, for this edition of IPL, he is said to be impressed, with a youngster by name kamran khan, an 18 year old, who basically was a wood cutter in a village. Just one over against Cape Cobras, is more than enough for Shane Warne to lap on him as his potential missile, for their team, in this edition.
Warne, who is also said, to have the habit of giving nick names, for his team members, to imply their role in team, is said that ,Kamran khan would be most likely conferred a nick name ‘ tornado’ or a ‘ wild thing’.
Shane was also reportedly happy to have Graeme Smith in his team, who could assist him in feild regarding the field setting and also his support staff Darren Berry and Graeme Snape, who brings in lot of impetus, through their behind the scene work.
Stage is all set, for 40 year old to unleash his inventions and discoveries, in this second edition of IPL too and take the world by storm.
