Rajasthan Royals scripted their third consecutive victory, over Bangalore Royal Challengers yesterday, in the Centurion Supersport Park. Shane Warne weaved his magical cerebrum once again, to restrict challengers, to a meagre one hundred and five only to see his batsmen finishing their formalities, with five overs to spare.
Shane Warne earlier managed, to win the toss and half the battle along with it, as he inducted the opposition, in testing conditions in supersport Park, where his opening bowlers Amit Singh and Morne Morkel obliged, to his expectations with some tight lines.
Amit Singh was very impressive, where he accounted for wicket of Jaffer in the start and also polished off three more batsmen of Royal Challengers, to end with staggering figures of nineteen runs, in his allotted four overs. He changed his pace consistently and batsmen consistently made a mockery of miss hits.
Royal Challengers batsmen never rose, to occasion on the pitch, which needed some application and intent, but they did not capitalize, on their start, where they went for too many unnecessary big shots and perished. It can be highlighted, by the fact that highest score by a Royal Challenge batsmen was Robin Uthappa with seventeen runs.
Batsmen managed only one hundred and five at the end, with only three sixes at their entire stint, in the middle. With the asking rate less than six and big hitters like Pathan and Jadeja in their Arsenal, match evidently appeared to be a lop sided affair and script was engraved exactly, as anticipated.
N Ojha and Graeme Smith were circumspect, to some solid bowling by Royal Challeneg new pair of Praveen kumar and Jacques Kallis in the start, but Grame Smith broke the shackles with some finely crafted boundaries, but soon perished to an avaricious clout of Jacques Kallis delivery.
N Ojha, who flaunted his hitting abilities in his last match against Punjab, gave a thing or two to ruminate for selectors, for not picking him, in final squad for world cup, by playing some audacious shots, even though few are cheeky; he reinstated his calibre and temperament, as an opening batsmen.
In the process he also compiled his second successive half century and did not mind, to wallop the ball, even after the departure, of his partners, at the other end. He along with Ravindra Jadeja romped, to finish line with five overs to spare and gave a huge impetus to their net run – rate.
Bangalore, which needed wickets, to stage any challenge to their meagre total managed only three wickets and certainly Shane Warne has taken a sweet revenge over Royal Challengers, after their agonizing defeat in last encounter.
