Mumbai Indians young stalwarts returned, from South Africa recently, after pursuing their training, under Shaun Pollock and Jonty Rhodes. This IPL2 team would sport a completely new team management, in this season IPL with some renowned names like Shaun Pollock as a bowling coach and Jonty Rhodes as a fielding consultant along with Vijay Amre as a coach.
Rahane the opening batsmen, who is contracted with Mumbai Indians said, that it was like a dream come true for him, training alongside his favourite stars like Shaun Pollock and Jonty Rhodes and added further, that they played three practise matches, along with undergoing rigorous training, which would provide them much needed edge ,against other teams in IPL.
It should be noted, that even before IPL announcing SA as a venue for IPL; Shaun Pollock was training Mumbai Indian young Indian stalwarts. Abhishek Nayar, who has played for Mumbai Indians in 1st edition of IPL, stated that wickets in South Africa are hard and good thing about them are, even flattest of wickets there, would offer some hope and assistance for the bowlers.
He also explained how he is honing his bowling skills working alongside with his bowling coach Shaun Pollock and also learning something or other new each day. For Ajinkaya Rahane, he feels now they know, what the conditions are going to be like in South Africa and what to expect out of this wickets here.
He was quoted saying that, South African pitches offer bit more extra bounce compared to Indian pitches, where bounce is not that high and if given a chance in Mumbai Indians team, he would do his best, to contrive win for his team.
He also went on reserving special compliments, for their fielding consultant Jonty Rhodes, who is fit and agile even at this age and can give a run for their money even now. He also spoke about lessons, which he learnt from jonty about the importance of fielding in cricket.
Abhisek Nayar also expressed that, Mumbai Indians will have edge over other teams, with players like J .P Duminy and Ryan Mc Laren in their jersey, who can change the complexion of the game anytime in their favour.
Even other new recruits for Mumbai Indians like Jaydev Shah and Rahil Shiekh sounded confident and positive, about their teams chances, in coming edition of ipl live and so it looks ominous signs for rest of franchise.
