Buchanan was quoted saying that, it was entirely a new concept, which hasn’t been experimented before and hopefully it would come good for them this season.  But South African coach Mickey Arthur expressed his awe ,to such a concept stating that, a team must comprise of only one captain and if there is more than one, it would only  lead to disorientation in crisis.

Insiders reveal another story, that John Buchanan has serious doubts about ganguly’s fitness level, which he thinks is not fit for this version of game. But KKR owner Sharukh Khan could not imagine his brand without Ganguly as its captain, because of brand value and advertising revenue generated solely due to Ganguly.

Earlier, there were speculation that Brendon Mc Cullum, would most probably lead the KKR team and John Buchanan was said to be heavily favour of such move. But it seems due to business intervention and ideas, they could not ignore Ganguly from throne of captaincy.

Even though John Buchanan doesn’t have, any personal issues with Ganguly’s calibre, but his mind seems to be clouded with doubts, whether Ganguly would be able to participate in entire tournament owing to fitness reasons and it was rumoured that Ganguly dint appear for practise session of KKC recently under john Buchanan.

Insiders reveal that, IPL2 shift to South Africa has also triggered such a move, because whole cricket world knows the power of brand Ganguly in Kolkata and so transfer of IPL to South Africa, have corroborated their team management intentions, to some extent.

When Ganguly was questioned, about the decision of Buchanan, he said that he is coach of team and they will abide by his decisions and he was not consulted regarding this decision. He also added that, it is certainly new concept to him, as hasn’t played in a team, with four captains and it may work or it may not; one has to wait and see how the concept takes shape.

When queried, whether he was disappointed about this decision, Gangly was quick to add that he was not and he would do all his best to clinch elusive trophy for KKC, which remains their first priority.
