It’s not even a month before, ICC announced that, South Africa is going to host this year Champions trophy, but real bonus have beckoned on South African cricket. with IPL being scheduled in South Africa.

Lalith Modi along with South African cricket Chief Majola met the press yesterday in South Africa, to announce their decision ,putting an end to IPL stalemate. Both were apparently ecstatic over idea of staging IPL in South Africa.

Lalith Modi said that, IPL is going to be one huge event for South African Cricket, as well as its economy indirectly. He added that, one could have more than 10,000 people working for IPL at a time and said that IPL ,would engulf more than 30,000 rooms at a time, which could be a dream period for hotel and tourism industry in South Africa.

He also explained that wet weather and other logistic problems eventually ruled out possibility of staging IPL in England and hinted that tournament would most likely commence in April 18, which is a week later than the earlier schedule of April 10. But official announcement regarding schedule and venues will be soon out within couple of days.

Majola also expressed his happiness over IPL transfer to hi country stating that, it is a huge compliment for South Africans infrastructure, practise facilities and fool proof security. He also quoted that, financial benefits were not in their mind now and in fact they haven’t discussed anything about it. They just want to help their close ally’s, who are in need of timely help.

South African players like Dale Steyn and Graeme Smith, who are contracted under IPL, said that, it would be a huge impetus for South African Cricket after their test series win against Australia.

Former South African players like Bacher, Shaun Pollock also expressed similar sentiments that IPL is going to infuse cricketing fever in their youngsters and also the relationship between Indian Cricket board and South African Cricket board would witness a significant improvement, which is good for cricket.

Franchises when queried about the move of IPL, said that they are happy about the fact, that tournament is on, which is pivotal and they don’t have any issues with South Africa hosting the tournament. So IPL is all set to the great African safari this April.
