Royal challengers

Get ready to dine with Bangalore Royal Challenge whiskey:

Royal challengers is a Bangalore based Indian Premiere League team, which was bought by one other than Kingfisher  Knight Brigade Vijay Mallya, at a whopping amount of 111 million $ . Vijay Mallya who was described as a man with Midas touch, and whatever he fiddled with transformed into gold, but was left to bite the dust in first season of IPL of 2008.

No more dumb squibs:

This season it looks pretty optimistic for kingfisher poster boy as team which was looking like a traditional Bradman’s age test team, now looks more fitting rock stars with Kevin Pietersen, Robin Uthappa, Dale Steyn and Mark Boucher. Even though majority of team is the same like last year, it seems that they have got balance right this season with Vijay Mallya calling the shots.

‘Change’ – The keyword this season:

As one know that after tragic last season, the Bangalore Royal Challengers cricket team has undergone lot of changes, which sounds to be more than Mallya’s Liquor brands. As one can say change is for good things to come, one can be quite optimistic with changes made this season. Ray Jennings former South Africa coach have took mantle of Coaching the team, whereas Brijesh Patel was announced as new CEO after the drastic failure of the team. Mallya recently announced that even captaincy options are very much open, as even a small child can question his involvement in leadership mantle in a 20 – 20 formats which is least suited to him.

Blend of class and Youth:

One cannot discount the talent in depository of Bangalore Royal Challengers Cricket team, as they have plenty of world class players like Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Jacques Kallis to young and agile knights like Robin Uthappa, Jesse Rayder and Kevin Pietersen. One win at start of this season can all make critiques who mocked at them saying that they appear like a test team, to stand with their eyebrows raised for sure.

Vijay Mallya who is known to be a shrewd business man, can be off beam this season for sure. He showed it in IPL second auction where he literally swept Kevin Pietersen to his side with a whopping amount  of around 1.55 million $and also made a dexterous purchase of hard hitting batsmen Jesse Ryder.

One thing is for sure, this time Bangalore Royal Challengers are not going to be a stroll in a park. They can prove to be a strong dark horse to throne of IPL.
