Royal Rajasthan Beats Delhi Daredevils

Yusuf Pathan cameo of sixty from thirty two balls proved too much for Delhi Daredevils, that they tasted the bitter defeat, for the first time, in the series. Both the teams made tactical moves, which added great setting, for a tough battle, but at end Rajasthan Royals were too strong with ‘Yusuf ‘typhoon.

Earlier Virender Shewag won toss and decided, to bat on a good pitch in Pretoria. The openers of Delhi daredevils once again failed to make any imprint in the tournament, where Gautham Gambhir fished a delivery of Mascarenhas well wide of off – stump. Shewag looked in ominous touch, clouting Englishman for first ball six and couple of boundaries, but soon succumbed to his usual custom, of throwing his wicket away.

When Dilshan got out of stingy Munaf Patel for a slash in leg side, it appeared match would be a one – sided dull affair, but thanks to Ab De Viller and Daniel Vettori, they knitted a fifty run partnership in a good pace and to romp Delhi to a decent total.

It was a decent performance, by Rajasthan Royal bowlers and fielders,to restrict Delhi, to one forty three runs and for Delhi De Villers scored a classic half century and was followed by a good support from Daniel Vettori and Mithun Mannas at the end.

Shewag, captain of Delhi faced an uphill battle of defending meagre total, in a much more meagre ground of Pretoria. There were many mind battled staged by both teams, where Shewag did not introduce Vettori, until 14 over and Shane Warne promoted himself before Yusuf pathan, at a stage, when they lost four of their batsmen within 11 over. Amit Mishra bowled brilliantly picking three crucial wickets, clawing Delhi back, to the game.

Graeme smith, who was given the responsibility, to take the baton in his hands till end, joined Yusuf Pathan at end of 11th over and stage was well set for a intriguing battle of guile and accuracy of Daniel Vettori against muscle power of Yusuf Pathan, but later emerged victorious in that neck cuffing battle, where Vettori conceded thirty two runs for his two overs and also match to Rajasthan Royals.

Yusuf Pathan relished on couple of missed catches and an obvious run- out chance, to take the game away from Delhi daredevils with six monstrous hit over fence and he was conferred man of title for second time in series Graeme Smith was unbeaten till the end, where Yusuf Pathan finished match well within six balls to spare.
