Rajasthan Vs Mumbai Indians
Rajasthan royals weaved their magic once again, in a close encounter and romped, to third position in the pints table, by registering a two run victory over Mumbai Indians. Initially there were apprehensions about Shane Warne participation, but he not only turned to captain his side, but picked three crucial wickets including Sachin Tendulkar, to script his side a memorable victory.
Earlier Rajasthan Royals batsmen batted first, in a double paced wicket, where they lost Graeme smith in stage just, when he looked ,to have started well, but they found new replacement Bob Quiney firing them with a valuable half – century.
Even though Yusuf Pathan could not replicate a storm, which he is renowned, for with the willow, Rajasthan Royals Ravindra Jadeja, took the mantle, of big hitting, where he clouted couple, of huge sixes of Mumbai Indians Spinners and brought a much needed impetus, to the innings along with Quiney.
Even though Quiney departed, after making a fine half – century partnership, Jadeja carried the innings along and also withered some good death bowling by Malinga and Jayasuriya at the end, to enable his team get one hundred and forty five runs.
Mumbai Indians surprised everyone, by pushing their much crooned opening pair Sanath jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar to the middle order, but unfortunately their new look top order did not provide much impetus and also lost wickets, which did not help their chase either.
Much were expected of Sanath Jayasuriya and J P Duminy, but they did not make any meaningful contribution and it came to Sachin Tendulkar , the captain of Mumbai Indians to wage a battle against ever mounting run – rate.
He rose to occasion, where he hit three boundaries of Ravindra Jadeja, to awake their drowsy chase and stage was all set for the battle of the giants namely Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar, where initially master blaster got the better of him, by lifting a huge six of Shane , but bolwer had last laugh , where he got him trapped leg before wicket.
Abisekh Nayar was not ready, to relinquish the chase, even after fall of sachin Tendulkar, where he literally strode his team to a position of needing six runs from nine balls, by lifting a huge six of Johan Botha in a penultimate over, but also ran out himself next ball attempting a cheeky run.
Rest of the batsmen panicked under pressure and handled a unlikely two run victory, to royals, thanks to some brilliant death bowling Munaf Patel.
