Mumbai Indians Beats Kolkata Knight Riders
Mumbai Indians registered a clinical win against knight Riders, where they out played their north eastern counterparts literally in all departments of game and in the process managed, to climb, to third position in points table.
Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya, so called veterans in game, showed why they are touted, as one of the hottest pain, in this year IPL 2, by staging a carnival in stadium, with their array of stroke play.
Tendulkar sounded to in a hurry of catching some train, where he made his intentions clear right from the first ball. He was severe, with new ball pair of Ashok Dinda and ishanth Sharma, clouting the both for towering sixes.
The pair set the stadium ablaze, that one stage Brendon Mc Cullum was left puzzled, with calibre of the pair ,that he could not help admiring them and the pair managed to graft 111 runs in first ten over, which was laced with eight towering sixes.
Tendulkar was eventulally adjudged Lbw to Laxmi Ratan Shukla, when he was on sixty eight and their partnership accounted for 128 runs, a killer partnership indeed. Laxmi Ratan Shukla bolwed with plenty of determination to claw Kolkata back into the game and he was rewarded ,with three crucial wickets, for mere twenty five runs, in his four over spell.
Rest of Mumbai Indians batsmen, who followed the opening pair could not replicate the same magic and they managed mere one eighty seven runs, when even two hundred looked very much viable.
Lasith Malinga who opened the bolwing with Zaheer Khan was fast and furious and proved too much, for Kolkata Knight Rider’s captain removing him cheaply, out of the equation. Bravo, who was inducted into bowling in third over of innings removed his country mate Chris gayle and also with him went the chance of Kolkata knight Riders, to garner any early impetus.
Sourav ganguly and Brad Hodge tried to repair the damage by constructing a partnership and they managed to romp Kolkata Knights Riders to a reasonable seventy for two in end of ten overs. But things went awry for Riders, when they lost both Brad Hodge and ganguly, who succumbed to pressure of ever mounting required rate.
Riders batting debacle can be epitomized by the fact that apart from three senior batsmen not even a single batsmen managed to double figures and they were comprehensively defeated by Mumbai Indians by huge margin of ninety two runs.
