Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals had a brilliant beginning of their IPL 2011 season. The two captains Daniel Vettori and Shane Warne succeeded in inspiring their team and bringing the best out of them.
Today’s (April 11, 2011) IPL match kkr vs dc will be starting at 8PM IST. It will be a day and night match and this is the only IPL cricket match on the first day of the week.
The score of 54 (not out) by the South African batting wizard A B de Villiers made it easy for RCB to reach the target of 162 set by Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Manish Agarwal’s 33 runs, 23 and 26 runs by Virat Kohli and Saurabh Tiwary respectively also helped the team to reach the target. Bowling by captain Vettori and Virat Kohli were really tough for the opposing KTK.
Kochi Tuskers Kerala really made Royal Challengers Bangalore to struggle for the victory. The 54 runs off 40 balls with five sixes by de Villiers made a sudden tilt against Kochi Tuskers. Captain of KTK and outstanding batsman from Sri Lanka, Mahela Jayawardene and the bowling giant from Sri Lanka Muttiah Muralitharan could not do much in yesterday’s match against RCB at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi. Jayawardene was out with just 18 runs. Brendon McCullum and V V S Laxman of Kochi Tuskers had impressive scores of 45 and 36 respectively.
The dismissal of Captain Kumar Sangakkara after the third ball with no runs came as a rude shock to Deccan Chargers in its first match against Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. When batsman of DC, J P Duminy was also sent out with just 14 runs Rajasthan Royals cleared the way to their victory in the match. Captain Shane Warne’s decision to put Johan Botha to bat after the loss of their first wicket was proved quite appropriate. Johan Botha scored 67, not out.
Captain Sangakkara of Deccan Chargers said that though his opening batsmen could make an impressive start, all the batsmen were out before achieving a considerable score.
