Delhi Daredevils makes winning a habit

Delhi Daredevils batsmen sounded bit complacent, to chase down the modest target of 149 set, by Bangalore royal challengers, who were never showed any of their pyrotechnics, to salvage their dwindling grace in tournament.

Bangalore Royal Challengers team was devoid of services of Rahul Dravid, who was their leading run scorer in tournament due to personal reasons. Bangalore Royal Challengers openers for the second consecutive time, made the mockery of captains decision, to bat first, by getting out for duck; this time Kallis was the culprit, who got out, in first ball of the innings and Dirk Nannes was the bowler.

Delhi made couple of changes by inducting Amit Mishra and Mithun Mannas in place of Avishkar salvi and Manoj Tiwary. Both made telling contribution in their respective departments.

Bangalore innings centred around a key partnership involving Kevin Pietersen and Ross Taylor, which added some flourish to early debacle of their batsmen and late impetus provided by Mark Boucher. But just when their batsmen sounded to look authoritative, they throw away their wickets.

Amit Mishra, showed his calibre and even bowled better than his team mate Daniel Vettori, where he finished with a figure of nineteen runs in his for four overs with crucial wicket of Ross Taylor and Dirk Nannes showcased enough potential for viewers to understand why Glenn Mc grath is warming up the bench, with a stingy bolwing.

Delhi batsmen were pretty indolent, to start with, where for second consecutive match they lost both their openers to Pankaj singh, who is replacing Praveen Kumar. So Tilakaratne Dilshan, Srilankan twenty 20 captain was conferred the responsibility of romping Delhi home.

He took the responsibility with both hands and played with lot of intent and creativity. Dilshan along with De Villers looked all set to replicate the magic, which they contrived in last match, but De Villlers was done in by beautiful leg spinner of debutant Appanna.

Dilshan was never in mood to relent, where he took the baton till Delhi reached the finish line. It was not a stroll in a park by any means, as things were very tight until Delhi made full use of Jacques Kallis over at death, to swing the pendulum, in their favour.

Delhi was better team clearly, which won crucial moments when it mattered and clouted Bangalore Challengers to a agonising defeat.
