Chennai Super Kings beats Rajasthan Royals
Chennai batsmen staged an exemplary lesson, for rest of teams in IPL, to chase totals by routing Rajasthan Royals, by seven wickets and romping, to top of the table. It was tough going for the most of the batsmen in slow paced pitch, but Chennai Super kings batsmen emulated Rajasthan batsmen by long distance, thanks to their sensible top order batsmen.
Rajasthan batsmen were rather subdued in their start losing Naiman Ojha, for a duck in the first over due, to some good tight swing bowling, by Albie Morkel, who kept the batsmen under their scrutiny, along with Sudeep Tyagi.
Graeme Smith and Swapnil Asnodhkar tried to resurrect their innings with some steady partnership, but just before it looked threatening, Ashnodkar was caught, in front of the stumps of the bowling of Mutthiah Muralitharan and Srilankan spinner also removed Grame Smith, who lost his balance and got stumped by Dhoni smartly.
In came so called Shane Warne’s rock stars, Ravindra Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan around fourteen over and they did oblige, to their reputation, by clouting huge six per hear, where Ravindra Jadeja was in pensive mood over Jakati, but the Chennai super Kings bowler came back strongly, by removing dangerous Yusuf Pathan and brought the match firmly, in the iron – grip of Chennai.
Rajasthan batsmen took more time to come and go from dug – out, rather than spending some time with willow in middle, where one stage they were reduced to seven for one hundred and eleven, but in came veterans Shane Warne and Shane Harwood, who hung in the middle and ended with one forty runs on the board, with a flourish in the last over.
Murali Vijay and Matthew hayden , who opened for Chennai super kings kick started their innings solidly, where Vijay brought some momentum, to the Chennai innings, with a huge six of Trivedi, but the bolwer won the battle, by accounting him for Leg before wicket and also Chennai lost their crisis man Raina.
But in came Badrinath, who showed his mettle, as solid top order batsmen, by giving an able sensible support, to Matthew Hayden and the both build a rock – solid partnership, which puzzled even Shane Warne, as he finally appeared human, running short of options and ideas.
Even though Matthew Hayden got stumped of Shane warne delivery at the end, Badrinath showed incredible composure and grit, to finish the match without much fuss or risks, which could have hurt the Rajasthan Royals most than their defeat.
