West Indies dine Australian curry in the oval

West Indies inflicted a humiliating eight wicket defeat to Australians and also increased their stronghold in the group of death, where they have Sri Lanka the other mighty contender to contend with.

Australians had worst possible start, after winning the toss, where they lost three wickets when the score board was just fifteen runs. It came to David Warner, to lend some impetus, a role, which he relished joining hands, with Brad Haddin.

For West Indies it was one of the most disciplined performances, from their opening duo namely Fidel Edwards and Jerome Taylor, to restrain batsmen, from any freedom of scoring freely.

But David Warner managed, to weave the innings, by striking a right chord between aggression and stability, where in the process he brought up his second T 20 fifty, after his debut and he scored sixty three valuable runs, when he got out in fifty three balls, but in ordeal circumstance, which cannot be discounted.

Australia reached one sixty nine runs, which sounded, to be a day dream one stage, thanks largely to Hussey brothers, who demonstrated some ominous death hitting, which spoiled the figures of few West Indian bowlers.

West Indies captain Chris Gayle came with Andre Fletcher, to kick start their chase but Australia was hurt badly, where even their principal bowler Brett Lee was taken, for a long ride by Chris Gayle.

A single solitary over of Brett Lee was taken for twenty six runs and Ricky Pointing was made to look like dumb – squib along with set of his bowlers, but he did managed, to give some control in form of Shane Watson and David Hussey but only , when it was too late.

The opening pair scripted one thirty three run partnership, where Duncan Fletcher spanking half – century was eclipsed, by  brilliant batting display by Chris Gayle , where he sent the ball to six times, which equals the number of sixes scored, by all the Australian batsmen, in their entire innings.

Even though Brett Lee came back, to remove Fletcher and Mitchell Johnson managed, to get the wicket of Xavier Marshall, but Shivnarine Chanderpaul along with Ramnaresh Sarwan finished rest of the formalities, to hand over a bitter seven wicket defeat, to mighty Australians.

Chris Gayle led admirably well his side with bat, that West Indies finished the innings well ,with  twenty four balls to spare, which a victory by huge margin, in this shorter version of the game.
